I am originally from Arizona but have lived all over; Denver, Chicago, and Honolulu. I have been stationed in Landstuhl since 2020. I started doing yoga almost 15 years ago as an adjunct to my running training as a way to get in a good “stretch.” I pretty quickly realized there was a lot more to yoga than stretching, being flexible or getting in a good workout. Yoga creates space to explore the mind-body connection and the ways in which the body stores and heals trauma. I completed my 200 Hour Teacher Training with the Hawaii Yoga Institute in 2018 with a goal of teaching prenatal yoga to my patients, a goal I am still working on.
I started doing CrossFit at CrossFit Oahu in Kakaako in the same year but have become much more dedicated in the past year or so. I love that both yoga and CrossFit push you to explore what your body is capable of and challenges you to be the best version of yourself. I am an Active Duty Army Midwife at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. While I emphasize whole-person care I am constantly amazed at the body’s ability to grow and feed little humans. I take great pride and joy in providing empowering care for military members and their families.
